Efficient and agile solutions for the client’s operational needs

The Société Immobilière GP hired Habitat to carry out major renovations on the exterior second and third storeys of its commercial building Les Galeries GP in Rimouski. These renovations consisted of installing new insulation throughout the second and third floors (on all four sides), replacing windows and installing new exterior siding. One of the main challenges of this project was working on walls that had been ripped open, while people were still working in the offices on the other side. We had to find solutions to enable the office workers to work in peace and to ensure that we could still carry out our job efficiently. Some of the solutions we put into play included: — Installing temporary interior walls enabling us to work without disturbing the office workers on the other side. — Completely covering up the scaffolding in the fall to ensure those working in the offices were kept comfortable and to enable our crews to continue working on the site regardless of the weather.
